A leisurely lunch at a waterfront restaurant is one of the great pleasures of the Amalfi Coast, and it can be a memorable part of a tour from Salerno when the day allows.

A lovely option, with a caveat

Stopping ashore for lunch in a village such as Amalfi or a quieter fishing hamlet adds a wonderful dimension to the day. For cruise passengers, though, it needs to be planned carefully: a sit-down meal takes time, so it should be coordinated with your skipper against the all-aboard time. Done thoughtfully, it fits beautifully; rushed, it can add pressure to the return.
