Ask About the Emerald Grotto

Between Amalfi and Praiano, near Conca dei Marini, lies the Emerald Grotto, a sea cave famous for the luminous green light that fills the water inside. It can be a memorable addition to a private boat tour when conditions are right.

An optional, weather-dependent stop

Access to the grotto depends on the sea state and the site’s opening status, and it is reached via a separate small-boat entrance rather than by swimming in. Because of this, it is best treated as an optional highlight rather than the fixed centrepiece of your day.

Plan it with your skipper

If the Emerald Grotto is a priority for you, mention it when you book and again on the morning of the tour. Your skipper will know whether conditions allow a visit and can adjust the itinerary so the rest of the coast is not rushed.
